The most dangerous kind of product manager? The one who looks productive.
I’ve seen this happen across many teams: the product manager becomes the person who holds the process together. They’re always present, always on top of things, always making sure everyone is looped in. They write the release notes, run the standups, keep Jira tidy, and schedule every stakeholder alignment. It looks like productivity but it’s not the work that moves the product forward.
